Reboot your Pro Shop this Winter

In our February retail article, Seaton Carew’s Martyn Stubbings talks about why pro shops should update to the cloud software this winter.

For Xpos retailers using V1 or V2 of the system, the Winter months provide the perfect time to make the switch to the newer cloud software.  As well as enjoying the fantastic benefits of an online system, such as remote access and digital receipts, users can look forward to more great tools and integrations this year.

Watch out for Shopify and Ecommerce integrations coming soon, a new Performance Dashboard, Xball for driving ranges and F&B Sales.

After seven years as PGA Professional and three years as Director of Golf at Rockliffe Hall in County Durham, Martyn Stubbings joined Seaton Crew Golf Club three years ago.

I had been using Xpos V2 for several years and was very happy with it. However, it’s important to me to be using the most up to date technology in the pro shop and I moved to Xpos’s cloud software when I could.

Upgrading couldn’t have been easier. The Xpos team was superb.

The guys in Support were in contact beforehand so we knew what to expect.  On the day, we stopped taking sales at 3pm and left the team connected to our PC overnight. By the next morning, our data had been migrated and the system was ready for us to use.  John, the Training Manager, was in touch first thing and we received two hours of great training on the software.

Cloud Benefits

The new Performance Dashboard gives me a quick and easy way to check the current key markers and basic health of my business, at a glance. The ability to see this from any device is superb, and daily sales analysis at the push of a button I find extremely helpful. A fantastic addition to the cloud system.

Being able to access the shop business anywhere, and from any device, is huge for me. It’s already made such a difference.  I’m also taking advantage of other integrations that come with the cloud software.

Xcaddie

The in-app notifications in Xcaddie are going to be great and I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with members that way.  They are a new way to communicate for me and I plan to use them to send notifications about new stock landing in-store.

Xeft

When my contract with our previous payment provider came to an end, it made sense to move to Xeft. After just a few days of using it, I can say it’s great.

The rates are good and the money comes in quickly after a sale.  We are already saving time and I can see how valuable it will be on competition days. You can do a sale and take an entry fee together, and the payment then goes to different parts of the business.

Xapp Pro app

With Xpos V2, I used to do a stocktake of a product group maybe once a fortnight.  Like a lot of people, I’m always stocktaking in my head and generally have a good idea of what I’ve got. However, when we upgraded to the online system, we were given a new barcode scanner to use with the Xapp pro app on our phones. It’s brilliant and saves us a lot of time.  I can be taking sales at the counter while someone else is carrying out a stocktake on the shop floor.
