Customer Spotlight: Nick Williams, St Enodoc Golf Course

Our Customer of the month for March Nick Williams, Head Pro at St Enodoc Golf Course in Cornwall has been a loyal customer of Crossover for over 10 years. He runs a successful business but knew he wasn’t using XPOS as well as he could be. The main reason for this was that his product data was not very accurate. Over time, his product data has become harder to manage, leading to duplications, incorrect stock levels and ultimately a lack of faith in the results that XPOS was giving. Nick wanted to get on top this, and so asked us for help.

Running a Golf Pro Shop is a busy life. Juggling time between teaching, managing shop staff, looking after customers and course management, it can feel that there is no time to take a step back and look at your bottom line… PROFIT.

In Nick’s own words, “The problem is when you are running a busy shop, you miss some new stock items arriving and don’t accurately record this until a later stage and odd items will get missed.

Overtime, this means that Nick didn’t accurately know what stock he was holding. So he Nick decided to take action and called in Crossover to move all of his current product data over to XCODES, and do a full stock take at the same time, ensuring that he was in a strong trading position for this year.

Using powerful stock guns loaded with the entire XCODES product database, the Crossover team was on site for a full day and, working closely with Nick and his team, scanned the majority of his shop, enabling them to both create the product and add the stock at the same time.

“As a direct result of the move over to XCODES and the stocktake, I now know that we were not efficient at keeping stock levels where they should be. I have much more stock than I need which is a common problem in the Pro shop world, but am now committed to selling more of the slow moving stock to get the cash flow back into my business”

said Nick.
