Chris Hobart

Support Technician

What does your typical day look like at Crossover?

I don’t think there is such a thing as a typical day! Some of my day will be spent answering calls, assisting customers with enquiries or resolving any problems that may have occurred. I am also responsible for sourcing and ordering any hardware that customers purchase through us. I enjoy working with our suppliers, developing relationships and of course ensuring we get great hardware at the best prices which we can then pass onto our customers.

What can customers come to you for advice / help with?

Anything IT or EPOS related really. We get a wide range of questions, anything from locating the correct report to find specific information, queries regarding cash drawers and receipt printing issues to the XPOS system itself. It can sometimes be challenging but is certainly never boring.

What's your favourite Crossover product and why?

That’s an easy one, XCODES! It really makes life easy where product data can be imported into the system in just a few mouse clicks.

Explain how working with Crossover Technologies benefits its customers

XPOS is so much more than a simple Point of Sale system. It provides our customers with a suite of tools and reports that assist with making decisions related to the business and be able to gauge performance. For example reports to highlight stock that performs well in terms of sales and profit margins. It also has a great stock taking feature called XAPP, this enables stock taking to be carried out either using the camera on a mobile phone or using a compatible barcode scanner. It really takes the strain out of stock taking.

What developments are you most looking forward to over the next 12 months?

The new Products Screen for XPOS looks and sounds great. I haven’t yet seen all of the new features but based on what I have seen it will definitely build and expand on the brilliant features XPOS already has.

Tell us something about yourself we don't know!

In my spare time I enjoy cooking, I will give anything a try but I’m particularly keen on cooking Indian and Thai food, and of course as we move into the summer it’s an ideal time to get outside and use the barbecue.
