Record Stock Taking Numbers in October
Huge thanks to all our customers who took part in #Stocktober last month, and especially to Head PGA Pro Lee Brotherhood and the team at Hollywood Golf Club for winning the much coveted prize for the most stock takes completed.
Big Numbers
Lee and the team managed to undertake a whopping 108 stock takes, closely followed by Head Pro Kevin Lovelock from Ipswich Golf Club, with 80 stock takes ticked off.
Said Lee, "The whole team enjoyed the #Stocktober competition and we’re delighted to have our efforts rewarded with a win. Since we took over the shop in 2016, we’ve made sure we carry out stock taking everyday of the week. It could just be a couple of categories but it all helps us to keep on top of the business. Much of the time, it’ll be a stock take of balls or snacks as these are the things you sell a lot, so it’s easy to lose track of what you might be short of. Obviously, we upped our game for #Stocktober but because we’re stock taking regularly anyway, our reports are always accurate which makes overall stock management much tighter and our buying decisions better."
Joint Effort
The success of #Stocktober was down to our collaboration with TGI Golf Partnership who work with hundreds of Golf Professionals around the UK and whose fantastic team kept the campaign momentum going - generating lots of interest and engagement across social media. Perhaps the highlight of the month was the fun video we made together to launch the campaign which you can watch here.
Fun aside, #Stocktober was a great way to reinforce regular stock taking as perhaps one of the most valuable habits for retailers. During the month, 1,046 stock takes were completed by XPOS customers alone - compare that to 376 during October 2018! Staying on top of your stock levels not only helps to highlight discrepancies, or a possible shortage of stock, but it will ensure accurate reporting and, very importantly, helps you to make better buying decisions.
