New team members at Crossover

We’ve recently had two new members of staff join the Crossover Technologies team.

Chris Hobart is a new Support Technician and will be one of the first voices you hear when you contact our support team. Chris has lots of experience having worked with EPOS systems before and is on hand to help if you get stuck or have any questions regarding the technical side of our products.

Our second joiner is Louise Donaldson, who has joined us from Deloitte to work in our Accounts team. Although Louise will be mainly working internally helping out on the Finance and HR side of things, she’ll occasionally be on the end of a phone for customers. Here they tell us a bit more about them and their typical day.

Chris Hobart, Support Technician

Describe a typical day in your new role?

A typical day for me would include taking calls from customers, diagnosing and resolving Crossover product queries or issues as well as more general, Windows or hardware problems. I also work with our suppliers to ensure that any hardware we source is competativley priced and suitable for its intended purpose.

Where did you work before?

I came from Zonal Retail Data Systems, who are an EPOS provider for the leisure industry. My old role was very different as I was working as a Field Service Engineer, this involved travelling to customer sites and driving around a 1000 miles a week, I was keen to get back to a desk based role.

What are you most looking forward to doing whilst working with Crossover?

I’m most looking forward to learning more about the Crossover products, XPOS, XCODES and XAPP are all great and interesting applications and there is a lot to learn! I’m also looking forward to being a part of such a fantastic team, they have all made me feel very welcome in the short time I’ve been here.

What attracted you to work for Crossover?

I have experience of working with a similar product, but I was keen to go back to working for a smaller more family-focussed company because I always feel more involved and engaged with the business. Also, Crossover is very close to where I live, just a five-minute walk to work, so it’s a perfect commute!

Louise Donaldson, Finance and Admin Secretary

Can you describe a typical day in your new role?
The thing I love about the job is how varied the role is. I like juggling and learning lots of things. My responsibility will be to look after the day-to-day invoicing, billing and being an extra pair of hands for the accounts team in my hours which are 9:30-2:30 5 days a week. I’ll also be helping out on the HR side.

What are you most looking forward to doing whilst working with Crossover?
I previously worked for Deloitte and so liked the idea of working for a smaller organisation in a more intimate environment with a good bunch of people.

What attracted you to work for Crossover?
A very family friendly team who understand the flexibility needed as part of having a family. It’s a good environment to work in and gives me the chance to get stuck into a proper role, using the skills and experience I have.
