Exciting News for New Year, and Beyond

December Pro Shop with news from the XPOS Team for retailers

Changes are afoot at XPOS and we're excited to be able to let you know of improvements that will benefit our retailers over the next 12 months.

The Present: ‘Hybrid’ Solution

We’ve been on quite a journey since our conception almost 25 years ago and our quest to improve business performance for golf retailers continues. Since the launch of the first version of XPOS, we have regularly introduced new features, culminating in Version 2 in 2018.

Having always managed the software within a client-based system (ie. off-line), Version 2 enabled us to take specific XPOS features into the cloud: making those elements more accessible for you.

During the pandemic, we acted swiftly to enable you to work from home and made the decision to move some of the popular reports online.  The ‘hybrid’ solution has been a useful and necessary step forward but we want to deliver the best user experience possible and are putting all pedals to the metal to achieve this.

Future Goals: 100% Online

Moving XPOS 100% into the cloud is, unquestionably, the right decision and presents multiple benefits for our retailers.

  • With both data and the management of XPOS features in one place, you'll be able to do everything from processing a sale to refunding an item, approving XMAIL emails and managing customer lists – all from any location and on any device. Pro shop owner managers will be able to stay on top of the business from holiday, home, or the golf course.
  • A cloud-based XPOS will also improve the ability to integrate with third party systems: making the process smoother and faster. This gives you the potential to take advantage of lesson booking, driving range, tee time and membership systems in the future.
  • There will be more choice when it comes to hardware options for XPOS users and you'll have the option to use iPads and tablets to sell stock and manage your business.  It's worth noting that there are some customers who'll need to upgrade to V2 between now and the cloud version, which MAY require a hardware upgrade. Please get in touch if you think this could be you.
  • Developing in a mobile environment allows us to create software that can relate closely to those apps that we use every day on our phones and tablets. This means transitioning from the current XPOS version to a new system should be easier and more intuitive than ever before.
XPOS future plans roadmap
Next Steps

We are on a path to get ahead of technical advancements that will benefit you and our goal of a cloud-based solution is just around the corner.

  1. From Summer 2022, new XPOS customers will be offered the new online service.
  2. We plan to move everyone online over the next 12 to 24 months. The process will be a personal experience where a member of our Tech Team works behind the scenes on a particular shop, guiding the retailer through the steps.  An appointment system will enable you to choose a time slot to suit your busy schedule.
  3. Once upgraded, the new online XPOS will be a great improvement in terms of simplicity of use, accessibility and overall experience.

We're excited for the future and the fantastic benefits our plans will bring to your business. If you have any queries please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team.
